  • Detailed Description:
Live Oak is a long-lived, iconic Southern tree known for its massive, wide-spreading canopy and evergreen foliage that provides shade year-round. In most landscapes it grows 30–40 feet tall with a canopy spreading 40–60 feet, though ancient specimens can become much larger. Its dark green leaves persist through winter, dropping only briefly in spring when new growth emerges. Extremely tough once established, Live Oak tolerates heat, drought, wind, and varied soils, making it one of the most dependable large shade trees for Gulf Coast gardens. Best suited for spacious properties, it adds timeless character and enduring value to the landscape.
