Fast growing small ornamental tree is sometimes called Chaste tree or Texas Lavender. Usually multi-trunked.

Spikes of lavender blue flowers appear in early summer and fall. Leaves are aromatic. Pink and white varieties are sometimes available. "Montrose Purple",  "LeCompte", and "Shoal Creek", are Texas Superstar plants. Deciduous.
